The environmental risks and regulatory challenges posed by several north-woods mining proposals were the focus of a MinnPost panel discussion that drew 100-plus people to Hell’s Kitchen on Feb. 10.
The panel featured Rebecca L. Rom, a wilderness advocate and retired attorney who lives in Ely, and Scott Strand of St. Paul. Strand is a former member of the Minnesota attorney general’s staff who is now the executive director of the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy. Earth Journal writer Ron Meador moderated.
