Minnesota’s own Lizz Winstead, comedienne and creator of The Daily Show, will headline MinnRoast 2014 on Friday, April 25 at the Historic State Theatre.
Show-only tickets start at $35. Tickets for the pre-show reception plus the show start at $150. All tickets are available here, and proceeds support the year-round work of MinnPost journalists.
MinnRoast is MinnPost’s annual song-and-skit variety show featuring local politicians, journalists, and media types. This year’s cast includes Gov. Mark Dayton, Sen. Al Franken, Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges, University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler, KARE 11’s Rena Sarigianopoulos, vocalists Erin Schwab and Mugsy, Tesfa Wondemagegnehu & Vocal Essence, K-TWIN’s B.T., former state Sen. Amy Koch, Cyndy Brucato, Joe Kimball, Al Sicherman and the MinnRoast singers and dancers. Plus Le Cirque Rouge Cabaret & Burlesque Show Band.
The evening will begin at 5:30 with a pre-show reception at Rock Bottom Brewery (right across the lobby from the Historic State Theatre). Enjoy complimentary welcome MinnRoast Martinis featuring Prairie Organic Vodka, upscale hearty hors d’oeuvres with a twist, and a cash bar. The variety show will begin at 7:30 at the State.
After the show, Rock Bottom Brewery will offer happy hour pricing on drinks and appetizers to all MinnRoast attendees. A dessert reception for sponsors and their guests will take place in the Burnet Gallery at Chambers Le Méridien.
