We couldn’t be more pleased that one of Betsy Hodges’ first unofficial acts as newly-elected mayor of Minneapolis was to agree to perform in MinnRoast 2014. Mayors R.T. Rybak and Chris Coleman brought numerous memorable performances to previous MinnRoasts, but with Coleman away on National League of Cities business, the stage is wide open for Mayor Hodges’ inaugural appearance.
If you were fortunate enough to read her live-tweeting her favorite movie, “Die Hard,” during a public screening at the Riverview Theater earlier this year, you know Her Honor can bring the funny. What will she be doing at MinnRoast? You’ll have to buy a ticket to find that out.
Mayor Hodges will be joined by comedienne Lizz Winstead, Sen. Al Franken, Gov. Mark Dayton, KARE 11’s Rena Sarigianopoulos, Tesfa Wondemagegnehu & VocalEssence, Cyndy Brucato and more. The evening begins at 5:30 with a pre-show reception at Rock Bottom Brewery. Enjoy MinnRoast Martinis, upscale hearty hors d’oeuvres with a twist, and reserved booth and table seating for sponsor groups. The variety show begins at 7:30 at the State.
