Want more arts coverage? Help us raise $10K in 10 days

MinnPost’s arts coverage has been generating lots of positive reaction recently in the community.

Partly because it’s excellent, and partly because the arts are getting less attention than they used to from other media in the Twin Cities. We are continually hearing from artists and arts professionals how important it is to have knowledgeable journalists paying attention to what’s going on.

So, we think the time is right to increase MinnPost’s arts coverage. And we need your help.

We’ve already raised a challenge pool of more than $10,000 from generous arts patrons who agree about the need for more coverage. Challenge pool donors are Ford Bell, Fuller Cowles and Connee Mayeron, Paula and Cy DeCosse, Design Forty Five, Polly Grose, Nina Hale, Lili Hall, Garrison Keillor, Monica Little and Mark Abeln, Chris and Dan Mahai, Eric Newman and Janice Gepner, and Kay and Mike O’Keefe.

If we can raise another $10,000 in 10 days, we’ll be able to double the frequency of Pamela Espeland‘s wide-ranging Artscape column from two to four times a week. And we’ll continue to run Books by Amy Goetzman, The Stroll by Andy Sturdevant, and special arts and culture pieces by Jim Walsh, Doug Grow and others.

Thanks to the challenge pool, each gift to the arts campaign will be matched dollar for dollar.

Ten days. $10,000. Let’s do it!

YES, I’ll chip in for more arts coverage
