MinnPost named a finalist for national journalism award

MinnPost is a finalist in the general excellence category of the Online News Association’s annual contest.

The Online News Association, the world’s largest association of online journalists, has named MinnPost a finalist for an Online Journalism Award.

The annual awards recognize excellence in digital journalism in several areas, including investigations, breaking news, visual storytelling and public service.

MinnPost is a finalist in the small division of the general excellence category, which recognizes standout publications with staffs of fewer than 50 employees. The other finalists in the category are The Texas Tribune and The Center for Public Integrity.

Minnesota Public Radio’s ongoing investigation into the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, “Betrayed by Silence,” is also a finalist for an award, in the medium division of the topical reporting category.
