MinnPost is hiring a Washington correspondent

Think you’ve got what it takes to keep tabs on Minnesota’s congressional delegation?

MinnPost is seeking a Washington correspondent.

As our D.C.-based reporter, your primary responsibility will be to keep tabs on Minnesota’s 10-member congressional delegation and other Minnesotans making news in the capital, along with assessing the impact of administration and congressional action on Minnesota.

We give our journalists a lot of freedom to find and tell the stories they believe are worth telling. But we also demand a high level of responsibility: you should be comfortable balancing shorter posts with deep-dives on politics and policy issues of interest to Minnesotans.

An intimate knowledge of Minnesota is not required, though a willingness to learn about the state’s unique political culture certainly is. Candidates should be self-starters, with a capacity for working independently and a proven ability to write compellingly about politics and policy for an engaged audience.

To apply, send a cover letter, resume and at least three samples of your work to MinnPost Executive Editor Andrew Putz at aputz@minnpost.com.
