‘MinnPost+’ to offer bonus content to most members

On Tuesday, we will launch MinnPost+, a collection of bonus content available only to MinnPost members who support our work by donating $60 or more per year.

On Tuesday, we will launch MinnPost+, a collection of bonus content available only to MinnPost members who support our work by donating $60 or more per year.

The move coincides with the launch of our Summer Member Drive, and is part of our ongoing effort to improve the experience of MinnPost members. By doing so, we aim to both thank existing members for their support and prompt a greater portion of our audience to become members by donating to the site.

MinnPost+

Our ultimate goal, of course, is to increase membership revenue, which will in turn enable us to produce more high-quality journalism for people who care about Minnesota – the sole reason our nonprofit organization exists.

Initially, MinnPost+ will consist of two weekly features: MinnPost Picks, which shares reading recommendations from MinnPost staff; and From Other Nonprofit Media, which showcases select work from other nonprofit news sites around the nation.

We plan to add more MinnPost+ offerings in the future, but we remain committed to keeping our core daily journalism free to all, regardless of whether they support us financially.

Article continues after advertisement

To view MinnPost+ articles, readers will have to have a MinnPost.com user account, be logged in to the site, and be a MinnPost Silver member or higher.

There are other reasons for members to log in. Starting with this member drive, for example, logged-in MinnPost members will see fewer solicitations – our customary run of pop-up ads will be replaced with a MinnPost+ announcement and a single “Thank you” message.

Other benefits of creating an account and logging in – such as commenting on articles and managing your newsletter subscriptions and other communications preferences  are available both to members and  non-members. (If you don’t already have a free MinnPost.com account, you can create one now.)

We believe these changes will help us build a stronger MinnPost, which will in turn contribute to building a better-informed and stronger Minnesota.
