Final-day surge surpasses Fall Member Drive goal, setting new record

A tremendous response on the final day of our Fall Member Drive propelled us past our campaign goal of 200 donations and to a new record member count. To everyone who contributed, we say “THANK YOU!

During the 10-day drive we received 214 contributions with an annual value of $16,448.

Gifts came in from members at every level, but non-members were especially strong; 72 households renewed their membership during the drive, and a fantastic 84 households made their first donation. As a result, we finished the drive with 2,542 member households, crossing the 2,500 mark for the first time.

We tried something new this campaign, giving donors the option of dedicating their gift to one of five MinnPost coverage areas. While many took us up on the opportunity – Politics & Policy received the most dedications – the majority of donors explicitly supported the “the whole package.”

As always, our favorite part of the drive was reading the comments you left along with your donations. Here are comments we received in the last days of the campaign, reprinted with permission.
