Over 1,200 members and friends enjoyed MinnPost’s ninth annual variety show on April 15 at the Historic State Theatre. Sponsors and special guests filled Rock Bottom Brewery for the pre-show reception. Joining regular performers like Sen. Al Franken, Gov. Mark Dayton, Reps. Tom Emmer and Keith Ellison, Mayors Betsy Hodges and Chris Coleman were first-timers Minneapolis City Council Member Abdi Warsame and former MPS Supt. Bernadeia Johnson. Former MPR host Gary Eichten narrated a series of videos peppered throughout the show entitled “Weird Tales from Minnesota History.” MinnPost contributing photographer Jana Freiband captured the evening.
At this year’s MinnRoast, we appealed to attendees to help MinnPost bolster our resources for this fall’s election.
