Last year, Rep. Keith Ellison brought the laughs, singing about the Tea Party to the tune of “People Get Ready” (you can check out the performance below). Ellison’s office has assured us he’s been practicing a new song he’ll debut on the State Theatre stage on April 15.

MinnRoast, now in its ninth year, has become a highlight of the Minnesota political calendar, bringing policymakers and journalists together to poke fun at each other and the state we all love in songs, skits, and monologues.

Joining Rep. Ellison this year will be Gov. Mark Dayton, Rep. Tom Emmer, Sen. Al Franken, soprano Maria Jette, Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges, St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, Le Cirque Rouge Cabaret & Burlesque Show Band and more. You can find more information about the event and special guests here.
