MinnPost receives Marbrook Foundation grant for New Americans coverage

MinnPost has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Marbrook Foundation for support of our New Americans reporting and analysis

The grant is one of several the foundation made to “projects that highlight cultural awareness or address social issues of immigrants and refugees.”

The Marbrook Foundation grant will help sustain our ongoing New Americans coverage, which was launched in 2015 with support from 262 individual donors. The coverage is spearheaded by reporter Ibrahim Hirsi.

A portion of MinnPost’s diversified revenue stream comes from foundation support.  So far this year we have received grants from the Blandin Foundation, the Bush Foundation, the Fredrickson & Byron Foundation, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Joyce Foundation, the McKnight Foundation, and MSPWin.
