MinnPost is hiring a development director

MinnPost is looking to hire a development director to join our executive team and lead our growing fundraising operation.

MinnPost, one of the country’s leading nonprofit news organizations, is looking to hire a Director of Development to join our executive team and manage our fundraising activities, which currently provide about half of our annual operating budget of $1.6 million

The Director of Development is a leader in our business staff, overseeing MinnPost’s individual giving efforts, which have seen strong growth in recent years and now account for about $800,000 in annual revenue. This person reports to the Publisher/CEO and works closely with the Director of Development and the Director of Advertising & Sponsorship as a member of our business leadership team.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about our mission to provide high-quality news and analysis for people who care about Minnesota, and excited to continue MinnPost’s current fundraising momentum. Top priorities are increasing revenue from major gifts and growing our base of 3,100 member households.

Strong candidates will have prior experience with both major- and minor-gift fundraising, exceptional attention to detail, the ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment, and a demonstrated ability to both direct their own work and collaborate as part of a team.
