So first: Thank you. It’s been an exceptionally busy year for my colleagues and me. In addition to covering the major news events of this year, we’ve launched a daily newsletter to keep you informed about how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting Minnesotans.
Whatever we’re covering, we try our best to provide you with the context you need to not just know what’s happening, but to actually understand it. Just in the last month, for example, we’ve written about why legislative redistricting could get hung up next year; why Central Minnesota has been hit hard by the coronavirus; and how Minnesota’s small-town grocers are adapting to survive the march of dollar stores across the state.
We provide all of our work for free, not only to people who come to our website but also to other news outlets throughout Minnesota. We do that because we believe it’s important for Minnesotans to have access to the news they need to make well-informed decisions and better understand our state.
But we don’t work for free, and in fact, small donations from readers go a long way toward making sure we are able to do our jobs. We know 2020 has been a tough year for many Minnesotans, but if you’re able, we’d appreciate your support in any amount to make sure we can keep doing this critical work at such an important time.
