Are you a state employee bracing for shutdown?

Come July 1, Minnesota state government will likely be shut down. We’ve heard plenty from the legislators and the governor on this. Now we want to hear from the state employees caught in the middle of the epic impasse formerly known as the 2011 session.

We’ve created a simple and secure form below where you can share your experiences preparing for a shutdown. Unless you direct us otherwise, what you share will be confidential and will help to inform and guide our reporting.

If you’re reading this and you are not a state employee, I bet you know somebody who is — please send them a link! Thanks for your help; it’s essential to covering this story.

All I have to say is sometimes this data seems to fall into a black hole. If people take the time to fill this out please follow up with a story in a timely fashion. The government shuts down on July 1st. I could be wrong but it seems to me you ask for feedback but often don’t do anything with it.

    Hi Paul,

There will be a post tomorrow with some of what people are telling us about preparations they’re making at home. Stay tuned.

Apologies if sometimes it seems like information falls into a black hole. I assure you it’s not the case.

Here’s what we’ve done so far with the feedback from this post:

I focused first on preparations at home. Many things about preparations at work were shared, but until we know more about exactly who and what services will be cut, it’s information I must be cautious with.
