The first day of the Occupy Minnesota protests are well under way. I’m collecting tweets, photos and other dispatches here. If you are protesting or plan to protest, I want to hear from you in the comments. You can also have a look at dispatches from the protest kickoff.

  1. A protest without a message … surreal and Orwellean. Nevertheless, average people have lost jobs, retirement savings, and political influence.

Ordinary people worry about the last Vikings, Twins, or Minn Wild scores. This is the politics of distraction.

I believe the answer is too complicated. Obama did not rehire the FBI white collar crime agents dismissed by Bush. Obama chose Tim Geithner over Paul Volcher’s team. Obama priortized health care (maybe unconstitutional) over the financial reform.

  2. “Destiny will be changed one morning when, at the edge of darkness, they stand up…About them it was said thy have nothing to lose but their chains” NAZIM HIKMET

In respect viable protests everywhere and in honor of
Tawakul Karman,32;journalist/activist,Yemeni Nobel Prize winner and mother of three.

I stand in awe of Karman’s courage and her rare concern for others beyond herself

  3. A sad exercise in masterbatory politics. “What are you protesting?” “What have you got?” Tools and fools for Soros, union big-shots and Obamanation.

  4. These people are the same useful idiots who elected Obama, the biggest crony capitalist president in history, who bailed out the banks and the car companies, and gave billions in taxpayer dollars to bankrupt “green energy” companies, yet somehow they can protest against crony capitalism while never mentioning his name.

We need to end crony capitalism now and that means getting rid of Obama. The government shouldn’t be picking winners and losers in the marketplace.
