A year after marriage-equality law took effect, we’re proud to be Minnesotans

As our state celebrates the first anniversary of marriage equality for Minnesotans, I am proud to say that my husband and I changed our original plans to vacation in Michigan this month when we realized that the state has one of the most restrictive marriage laws in the country and its public officials have fought a judicial ruling which declared Michigan’s law violates the Equal Protection clause of the U.S. Constitution. We’re staying right here in this inclusive state and spending our money here. Proud to be a Minnesotan!
