God help us and God forgive us. In spite of everything, the direction of our country continues to be determined by drunken frat boys, who can grab the ass of any woman they choose, determine what women can and cannot do with their own bodies, and render powerless any vulnerable group in what is supposed to be a democratic society.

We’ve gone from what George Washington called “The Great Experiment” to — 43 presidents later — what the world now recognizes as “The Great Embarrassment.” I have no profound solutions to America’s problems. But with most all positions of power in government and the private sector stacked with old white men, I have a pretty good feeling for what doesn’t work, and why. This is certainly not the entire problem, and feeble, knee-jerk reactions come from both ends of the political continuum.

We live in a world so advanced in technology, but a world that will apparently always be ruled by those who can shout the loudest and longest, and leaders not required to have a benign bone in their body. U.S. is really all about “me,” without the “too.”
