Infographic: The MinnPost guide to the Fringe Festival

As I have been threatening to do, I have gone ahead and created an infographic. Below, in graphic form, you will find my guide to the Minnesota Fringe Festival, including some tips for how to best experience the festival, a few graphs showing the festival’s ongoing growth over the years, and my own system of identifying the contents of a Fringe show, which mostly involves whether it has any sorts of monsters in it.

Over the next week, I shall regularly file reports from the Fringe Festival — for the most part, I should see a show or two every day or so, depending on hot how it is and how exhausted I get. I generally intend to see every show I can every single day, and that usually lasts for the first weekend and then I discover I need to pace myself, as I am not a young man anymore and racing from venue to venue is a sisyphean task. Sisyphean!

But there are a lot of promising shows this year, and I shall do my best to see as many of them as I can, along with my usual coverage of movies, fine arts and alcohol. And there may be a lot of alcohol this week. The Fringe Festival is going on, after all.

I for one will be looking to see at least one with a prince and one with an anthropomorphized animal! Thanks!
