Check out the trailer for the Coen brothers’ new film, ‘A Serious Man’

Looking forward to ” A Serious Man,” the Coen brothers’ new film, set for an Oct. 2 release? Now you can get an early look at the first trailer, which came out this week.

The trailer, below, is set to the beat of — and begins with — a man’s head being smashed repeatedly against a gigantic green chalkboard. Does that get your attention?

Shot last year, “A Serious Man” is supposed to take place in St. Louis Park, the Twin Cities suburb where Ethan and Joel Coen grew up. However, it was filmed mostly in Bloomington, where today’s housing stock more closely resembles their old neighborhood.

The movie, set in 1967, tells the story of physics professor Larry Gopnik, who seeks help from three rabbis to help him cope with his dysfunctional family and job-related issues at the university.
