Canadian squirrel crashes Minnesota couple’s vacation photo; Becomes internet celebrity

A Minnesota couple on vacation in Banff National Park in Alberta were snapping photos of themselves when an unexpected visitor appeared for a cameo.

Melissa and Jackson Brandts think their curious furry friend was drawn to the sound of the camera shutter. So they entered the photo in National Geographic’s “Your Shot” contest — and since then the photo has gone viral. While photoshopped pictures of the “squirrel crasher” have been showing up all over the Internet, the couple says their photo is completely unedited.

In related news, dramatic chipmunk is not happy about the squirrel’s media attention. But this isn’t the first time a squirrel has become an Internet celebrity. Squirrel drunk off fermented pumpkin still holds the title for most famous Internet squirrel.
