Come on in, the new moss-filtered water is fine

The St. Paul Parks and Recreation Department recently installed two new moss-based water-filtration systems in city pools. City officials have found that fewer harsh chemicals are needed to clean the water, which means less irritation to swimmers. Parks and Rec Director Mike Hahm sees this as the beginning of an industry standard in public pools. The Highland Park pool and the new Great River Water Park are the first in the nation to use this sphagnum moss system.

St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman speaks at the 2:42 min. mark about how this system has benefited the city.

Note: The entire press conference is 18:01 minutes long.
