Even though she had long called for investigations of the organization’s activities, Rep. Michele Bachmann expressed surprise after watching an undercover video that shows a couple portraying a pimp and prostitute receiving tax advice from an ACORN official on how to shelter money from the government.

She talked about the ACORN controversy in an interview with Human Events, which bills itself as the Headquarters of the Conservtive Underground.

Commenting on the recent “You lie” outburst by Rep. Joe Wilson, Bachmann said he is bearing the situation very well and has made all the proper steps in apologizing. She said she believes some Democrats just want to rub Wilson’s nose in it and won’t let well enough alone to move forward on true health care reform.

Bachmann also says in the interview below that Wilson was telling the truth when it comes to funding health care for illegal aliens. “To have the President of the United States make assertions that are factually not true is really the issue at hand.”

  1. Now that E-Verify is becoming a nationwide verification application to extract 20 million plus illegal immigrants from businesses. It is now growing in aggressive performance for placing true US workers in the job line and outing illegal labor. This operation should now extend to certainly more purposeful uses? That means not just federal contractors but everybody who draws a pay check? Should a health care reform pass all obstacles in the House and Senate chambers, it could have an invaluable function of checking people who are not only applicants for jobs, but health care reform registry. Illegal immigrants are already getting free emergency hospital care and–WE–pay for it. In the future it should be considered to vet a person’s nationality status, when applying for a mortgage? The United States banking system, financial institution were all but swept away on a deluge of corruption that has very sinister undertones in an organization called ACORN.

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform now is under state and federal investigations at this very moment. Other involved institution impacted both Freddie Mac/Freddie Mae and a scheme incorporating underhand minority lending practices. But you might not have heard any of this, from the liberal media about the massive illegal alien mortgage accusations. The whole debacle was the involvement in a corrupt enabling banking industry and ethnic lobbyists, using unethical methods, along with Bush administration to guarantee loans for low income and people that could not possibly afford mortgages. Didn’t Wall Street, the government regulators learn anything from the Savings and loan crisis in the 1980’s?

BETTER START COUNTING YOUR PENNIES, BECAUSE IF THE DEM’S PASS ANOTHER AMNESTY–WILL HAVE MILLIONS OF MORE DESTITUTE ILLEGAL ALIENS AND FAMILIES TO SUPPORT!. THE BUSINESSES THAT HIRE THEM WILL NOT!

  2. Dave, I think that we can solve this with very little regulation.

Give every employer that hires “illegals” one free pass with just a very simple, very heavy fine when they are caught having “illegals” on there payroll. No excuses right?

Then for the second infraction asset forfeiture of that business that hires “illegals”. One would think that after a few business’s go under that word will get around in the business community that it is illegal an unprofitable to hire “illegals” Pretty simple huh?

You should consider facts instead of all that crap you get from those wing nut websites and those fear mongering talking heads.

Clearly as the demagoguery in your post, is the fact that it is the jobs that lure the “illegals to work here. Until business’s quit hiring, there will be “illegals” lining up for the work.

  3. Right, Richard!
Once the illegal immigrants are gone, who’s going to work for low wages and no benefits?
Then the same people will yell about prices going up, and more importing of foreign products.
If we don’t let Mexicans work in the United States, eventually they’ll do the same thing in Mexico and export the products to us.

The answer is not keeping people out; it’s letting people in legally.
Of course, the USA will keep getting browner ….

  4. Paul, my point was to simply refute the premise that illegals are the cause of our immigration debate. I personally have no problem with Hispanics coming north and seeking employment.

My point was simply that the employers are the ones that control the jobs and the hiring practices that allow “illegals” to be hired. Instead of vilifying and painting the “illegals” as a negative. I would rather see business take ownership of the situation.

My feelings are: if there is work available come and get it. If some “American worker” feels that his job is threatened by a Hispanic that can barely speak English and has less than an average education then the American worker really has bigger problems than “illegals”.

  5. A liar by any other name? Rep. Bachmann may use more words, but she clearly agrees with Rep. Wilson’s claim that Obama has lied about this subject.

Allegations are easy to make. I would like Rep. Bachmann to step up and give us the proof that any of the plans before Congress would provide coverage for illegal aliens and, if so, that this would be a change from current practice. It should be a simple task for a lawyer whose specialty was one of the most arcane areas of federal law, the tax code.

If she can’t do so, then perhaps she should consider whether her inability to do so is evidence of her own inability to be truthful. More simply, is she lying?
