Some doctors operating cash-only practices

A growing trend in the health-care industry is doctors who operate cash-only practices. They have chosen to eliminate the insurance middle man and collect  payments directly from their patients. Doctors such as James Eelkema of Burnsville are finding the switch not only saves money but also hours of time previously spent filling out insurance forms — time that can now be used to care for more patients and even make house calls.
