A sunrise over Lake Superior

Here’s a good reason to wake up before the sun comes up. This videographer captured serene images on the partially frozen shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota as the sun worked its way over the horizon.

What a prize…to see my morning sunrise through another’s eyes.

But where the sun rises is only half the scene…there is another special view; bayside from the other side where gold and red and fading orange too…glows in the setting of the same bright ball.

I call a sunset, a sunrise applauding itself.

Lovely video. We live just a half mile from that pier and have similar sunrise views every morning…only no soundtrack. After surviving 50 mph winds off the lake this week, we wonder if the beautiful mornings make up for the 6 or 8 big blows every year that shake the house and our souls.
