An anonymous source reported Brett has been texting team officials with talk of retirement for the third time. CBS Sports analyst Pat Kirwan thinks we should not count Favre out until he makes an official statement. He said the decision is motivated by money more than his ankle injury. The Minneapolis StarTribune reported Favre was offered a deal worth $20 million to return for the upcoming NFL season. If he does come back, this would be Favre’s 20th season in the NFL. The Vikings are scheduled to kick-off the NFL season in a game against the New Orleans Saints.
