Two College of Science and Engineering graduates from the University of Minnesota plan to use a microbe developed by professors at the school to launch a new water filtration company. The filter will use a microbe to reduce levels of a herbicide used by farmers called Atrazine, which runs off into community drinking water sources. With the help of the university, the graduates have licensed use of the microbe for their company, called NewWater.
