Stacy Holzbauer, D.V.M., M.P.H., of the Minnesota Department of Health explains why more and more farms are using antibiotics on their livestock, even when the animals are not sick. Overuse of these antibiotics has led to the growth of drug-resistant bacteria, which cannot be treated. Holzbauer shares insights on how to prevent bacteria from forming resistance while still being able to use current antibiotics to treat sick animals.
