Rep. John Kriesel shoots for Sunday liquor sales — twice

Rep. John Kriesel makes the case that Minnesotans should be able to by liquor on Sundays.

Retiring state representative John Kriesel, Republican of Cottage Grove, attempts — twice — to amend the omnibus liquor bill to allow Sunday liquor sales in Minnesota. In spite of Rep. Kriesel’s persuasive arguments for alcohol on Sundays — including the potential to soften the blow of a 3 and 13 Vikings season — the amendments were soundly defeated by members of both parties: 25 for and 97 against at the first vote, 22 for and 97 against at the second.
