Rep. Keith Ellison and the 5th District on ‘The Colbert Report’

In part 67 of his 434-installment series, “Better Know a District,” comedian/pundit Stephen Colbert takes a look at Minnesota’s 5th congressional district — “The Fightin’ Fifth” — and interviews its representative, Congressman Keith Ellison. Not one to shy from controversy, Colbert takes the issues head on, from Ellison’s criticism of his colleague Rep. Michele Bachmann to the ever-present rumors that Ellison may be Mitt Romney’s VP pick.

Pecking order, and another Colbert corny quest?

Please note the eagle in the background and the brooding eyes focused on the host. Also note the ‘moderator’s right ear that rarely comes into focus…minus an earlobe? And, should one assume even another bite is possibly, being contemplated by the bird?

Silly indeed? Not as silly as this moderator-about- town

    No actual segment on MN1?

I followed a link to video of the Harvard event and in that version Tim Walz was on screen for about ten seconds…he doesn’t say a word and neither he nor the district is identified. Is there nothing more? I guess he was on the program technically. We the honest citizens of the First District think we deserve more attention than that from Mr. Colbert.

I really loved the MTM bit.
