Minnesota legislators: are there just too many of them? That’s the question at the heart of the bill introduced by Burnsville Rep. Will Morgan. Morgan’s bill would reduce number of state representatives from 134 to 98, and senators from 67 to 49. In this video produced by Minnesota House Public Information Services, Morgan explains the rationale behind the bill. It won’t go anywhere this year since Morgan introduced the bill after the committee deadline, but he’s hoping legislators will start to have conversations about the idea and perhaps vote on the bill next session.
The second part of the video looks at the fate of a House effort to legalize Sunday liquor sales in Minnesota. Spoiler: it failed.
