The making of Summit Brewing’s State Fair IPA

The St. Paul craft brewer brought together some Minnesota classics for this State Fair exclusive brew.

In celebration of “The Great Minnesota Get-Together,” the craft brewers at St. Paul’s Summit Brewing have created a special State Fair IPA. In the video below, brewer Jeff Williamson discusses the special Minnesota ingredients that went in to the beer: hops from Hugo, honey from the Twin Cities, wild rice from McGregor, and — because it’s the State Fair, after all — a little bit of corn.

If you want to try the State Fair IPA, Summit’s tapping one keg each day at 1 p.m. at their booth in the Inernational Bazaar. You might want to plan ahead; Twitter reports from the fair’s first day suggested the beer sold out in 20 minutes.
