Rebuilding Toni Stone baseball field in St. Paul

The field is dedicated to the first woman to play professional baseball.

St. Paul dedicated a baseball field to city native Toni Stone — the first woman to play baseball professionally — in 1997, but in recent years the field had been in need of a little care. Recently, volunteers from the Minnesota Twins and Toro joined up to rebuild the field in just one day. Funding for the project was provided by the Twins’ Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities program.
