Video: Minnesota SPJ holds public forum on Pointergate

Minnesota SPJ hosted a public forum on the ethical issues raised by KSTP-TV’s “Pointergate” story at the University of Minnesota Monday night.

Minnesota SPJ, in collaboration with the Asian American Journalists Association, Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, the Silha Center for the Study of Media Ethics and Law and the Minnesota Journalism Center, hosted a public forum on the ethical issues raised by KSTP-TV’s “Pointergate” story at Cowles Auditorium on the West Bank campus of the University of Minnesota.

Panelists included Jane Kirtley, University of Minnesota professor and director of the Silha Center for the Study of Media Ethics and Law; Duchesne Drew, managing editor of the Star Tribune; Ruben Rosario, columnist at the Pioneer Press; and Anthony Newby, executive director at MN Neighborhoods Organizing for Change.
