The most Republican district in the entire state is 1 point more Republican than the second most Republican district. The most Democratic district is 7 points more Democratic than the second most Democratic district. Even more telling, there are 12 districts that are more concentrated with DFLers than the most Republican district.

I have little doubt that the Republican House candidates are going to try to take credit for the current economic uptick in Minnesota. They will try to ignore Democratic contributions and the above mentioned caveats to that credit.
Economy is improving, but restructuring is still needed

Which naturally gets us back to the stock market rise. There is little doubt now that the economy is improving and confidence is coming back. This will continue to be the lead story through the long summer and people will have a much better attitude than they have in years. Given this news, we are almost certainly in the best time to take on a genuine restructuring. Markets are, traditionally, driven by either fear in bad times or greed in good times. What drives them in an era that nearly everyone can describe as “Meh”? Fundamentals. We’re not ready to be greedy yet, but are cautiously optimistic.

Home to Luther College and the world’s largest collection of Norwegian artifacts at the Vesterheim—The National Norwegian-American Museum and Heritage Center, Decorah definitely presents a college town feel and an ethnic bend toward Norwegians. Interestingly enough, we didn’t tour either Luther or the Vesterheim. Next trip, because we will return.
