Bachmann’s kickoff Monday at Waterloo mansion

U.S. Rep.

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann will officially start her presidential campaign Monday in Waterloo, Iowa, with a kick-off speech at a restored mansion, say media reports.

She was born in Waterloo and lived in neighboring Cedar Falls until moving at age 12 to Minnesota, where she’s become nationally known as a conservative congresswoman and Tea Party favorite.

And she’s covering her early-primary bases by heading to New Hampshire and South Carolina after the Iowa event.
