‘Iowa will always be home,’ says Bachmann radio ad

Kevin Diaz of the Star Tribune brings us news of this radio ad running in Iowa, for Michele Bachmann’s presidential campaign kickoff. That would be U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, the Repubican who represents Minnesota’s 6th District:

“Iowa is not just another state on the presidential campaign trail,” the announcer says to a peppy tune. “For Michele Bachmann, Iowa will always be home. Born and raised in Waterloo, Michele Bachmann has deep roots here, and our town holds a special place in her heart.”

Bachmann has boasted before that she’s kicking off her campaign in Iowa, where she was born and lived until she was 12, when her family moved north to … Minnesota. Of course, Iowa’s caucuses are earlier.

Says Bachmann in the ad:

“Waterloo is my hometown and i’m a candidate for the presidency of the United States. I would like to personally invite you to join me this Sunday evening at Waterloo’s famous Electric Park Ballroom at 5:30 p.m.”

An item in Politico notes that the ad “doesn’t mention Bachmann’s party affiliation or make any ideological or party appeal, but seems aimed entirely at advertising an interesting event for anyone who might be around.”

Adds the narrator:

“Bring family, friends, and a few lawn chairs. Let’s make history together in Waterloo.”

And then Politico notes, with what has to be sarcasm:

“In the unlikely event Bachmann isn’t elected President of the United States, the news that her home is in Iowa may come back to haunt her with her Minnesota constituents.”

Now we have to get her to go home and stay there. To think we will have to listen to her shrill voice, as a minimum, for the next year and a half is almost too much. Her husband has to be elated she is out of the house. The only image you need in your mind of Bachmann to make your voting decision is her literally hanging on George W. Bush’s neck, on TV, at the State of the Union speach. Her vision of America is exactly as Geroge W. Bush created it. You can’t listen to her words because there are no facts involved. Go home Michele!

There’s a video making the rounds these days of Samuel L Jackson reading a “childrens” book entitled “Go the F— to Sleep”. I am rather hoping there is another such book/reading in the works, dedicated to M.B. entitled “Go the F— Home.”
