WASHINGTON — Tim Pawlenty and Michele Bachmann will join almost every other major Republican presidential candidate as speakers at the Faith and Freedom Conference this weekend in Washington.
The conference is sponsored by the Faith and Freedom Coalition, a conservative group that lists its principles as “the simple virtues of faith, hard work, marriage, family, personal responsibility, and helping the least among us.” More than 1,000 people are registered to attend.
The convention’s lineup of speakers [PDF] reads like a conservative all-star team: in addition to Pawlenty and Bachmann, other speakers include House leaders John Boehner and Eric Cantor, Congressmen Paul Ryan and Allen West, Rep. Ron Paul and his son, Sen. Rand Paul, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus and Donald Trump.
Bachmann will speak during the Friday morning sessions, delivering a speech on “American values,” according to her office. Pawlenty is scheduled to address conference attendees Friday night. Other potential or declared Republican presidential candidates scheduled to speak include Mitt Romney, Jon Hunstman, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Herman Cain.
