WASHINGTON — Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann has hit the airwaves in Iowa.
In an introductory ad titled, “Waterloo,” Bachmann highlights her Iowa roots and her family background. She also talks fiscal policy, telling viewers, “I know that we can’t keep spending money that we don’t have. That’s why I fought against the wasteful bailout, against the stimulus. I will not vote to raise to debt ceiling.”
It’s Bachmann’s first ad in the state and it will run today through the weekend, her campaign told CNN. The buy coincides with fellow presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty’s appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press.
Pawlenty has already aired two ads in Iowa. Earlier this week, he released one touting his record as Minnesota governor.
