Second Iowa poll puts Bachmann first

A second straight poll of Iowa voters has Michele Bachmann in first place among GOP presidential hopefuls.

The poll, an American Research Group survey of 600 likely Republican voters, has Bachmann at 21 percent, 3 points ahead of Mitt Romney. Yesterday, The Iowa Republican had Bachmann in first place with 25 percent.

Bachmann’s support was at 9 percent during ARG’s last poll, in April. At the time Mike Huckabee (at 18 percent) and Donald Trump (10 percent), said they were considering seeking the party’s presidential nomination. They’ve since dropped out.

This poll is one to forget for Tim Pawlenty, who received support from just two percent of respondents. The Iowa Republican poll had him at 9 percent.
