Vin Weber, the former Minnesota congressman, lobbyist and a respected Republican mover and shaker, had been supporting Tim Pawlenty’s presidential bid.

But his loyalty to Minnesota candidates only goes so far, and now that T-Paw has dropped out, Weber is back with the Mitt Romney campaign, where he’ll be a special adviser on policy, the Star Tribune says,

Weber had been policy chairman for Romney’s 2008 run for the Republican nomination.

“It is an honor to again work with Mitt Romney,” Weber said in a statement being released Wednesday by the Romney campaign. “At such a critical time in our nation’s history, it is important that we have someone with his background to lead the country.”
