Bachmann’s family says she skipped reunion

After she was late for a campaign event in Iowa Sunday — angering some supporters who got tired of waiting, according to media reports — Congresswoman Michele Bachmann said she’d been late because of a family reunion.

But Politico talked to her mother and two cousins who said she never showed, although Bachmann’s husband and children did attend.

After showing up late for the Waterloo Republicans event, Bachmann had been asked what delayed her.

She replied that it was a busy day, and said:  “We had a big family reunion just north of Waterloo,” she said. She also said she’d visited a local “shut-in.”

Bachmann’s mother, Jean Amble, told Politico that said she wasn’t surprised her daughter didn’t attend the reunion, in Lake Mills, Iowa, on the Minnesota border, given her busy schedule for the day, the story said.

A cousin said Bachmann “usually attends” the event, the story said. And several family members had supported Bachmann at the Ames Straw Poll event Saturday.

So she was late cause she didn’t attend a family reunion.
Of course, she didn’t say whose family it was; maybe the Koch family?
