Jon Stewart has fun with Newsweek’s Bachmann photo

The scary Newsweek cover photo of Congresswoman Michele Bachmann got the Daily Show treatment from Jon Stewart last night.

He’s gone on about Bachmann and her husband before but this time laughingly takes the magazine to task for using that particular, “glazed and confused” photo.

“It’s clearly not accidental,” he said. “You can say a lot of things about Michele Bachmann — a lot of things — but here’s what you can’t say about Michele Bachmann — that she’s not photogenic…my point is, you’ve got to go pretty far out of the way to find a crappy photo of Michele Bachmann — and you did.”

The candidate doesn’t get by without a dig:

“Be honest, Newsweek, you used that photo in a petty attempt to make Michele Bachmann look crazy — and that’s what her words are for. If you want a photo that makes her seem off, make it out of her words.”

And some say that Jon never sticks it to the “liberal” media.

Bachman posed for it, willingly. Why is everybody so upset? I mean, it does her complete justice. She’s a wacko. What’s the problem?

Thanks for the link. I think the Terri Gross’s Fresh Air interview with the guy from New Yorker was fantastic on Tuesday night. Here’s the link to the upcoming piece :

I think if maybe noone’s is paying attention to the words it’s time to go with the images.
