Slate digs up old websites from previous campaigns of the GOP presidential candidates, and if you click through to Michele Bachmann’s 2002 state Senate campaign site, you’ll find many familiar issues:

My Commitment to You

“As your District 52 State Senator, I will work hard to protect all human life, reduce taxes, control spending

return academic excellence to Minnesota schools, add capacity to Minnesota highways, be the voice of the people, not the big-money outside interest group.

This is my personal commitment to you.”

That’s from when she  was seeking re-election to the state Senate seat, after redistricting made the seat more conservative.

In the biography section of the old site it says:

The Bachmann’s have also been foster parents to over 20 other children, taking some all the way through their high school graduations. “I recognize the importance of family life, and know that good public policy must support and enhance the institution of the family. Every time I make a decision or cast a vote, I consider its impact on families because strong families are the foundation upon which a strong society is built.”

The Slate site also has early campaign websites from campaigns of Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Tim Pawlenty, Sarah Palin and others.
