Tim Pawlenty had a little fun with Stephen Colbert last night, making his first national appearance since dropping out of the presidential race last month.

T-Paw told “The Colbert Report” host that he had to leave the race because he ran out of money after the Ames Straw Poll.

“And coming in third behind Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul, I think that’s enough for any one person to endure,” Pawlenty said.

The former governor, looking less stiff and more likeable than he’d appeared in the stress of the campaign, asked who’s he’s endorsing for president, tried to support Colbert.

“I’m not running,” Colbert said. “I’m more like Sarah Palin. I’m a television personality.”

It was pretty funny.
