Romney invites Pawlenty to tonight’s Florida debate

We’ll have two Minnesotans at tonight’s Republican Tea Party debate in Florida, after all.

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann will be on the stage with the contenders, and former Gov. (and former candidate) Tim Pawlenty will be backstage with the Romney camp.

Pawlenty announced his support for Romney this morning, and it wasn’t long before CNN was reporting that TPaw would be at the debate, in his new role as national co-chair of Romney’s campaign and top campaign surrogate.

    TP For VP?

In his dreams. TP is uncapable of playing the tradational role of attack dog, something Romney’s seen first hand.

I doubt Pawlenty expects to be VP — he wouldn’t give Romney any geographical boost. I’d guess he’s wangling for some kind of cabinet post or other appointment, which would give him additional street cred for future ambitions.
