On a conservative radio show Friday, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann lashed out at China, calling it “a bad actor,” and listing some of the perceived transgressions.

She pointed out that she serves on the House Intelligence Committee, a report in Politico notes.

“I’m not sharing something I shouldn’t, but China has blinded United States satellites with their lasers,” Bachmann said on The Laura Ingraham Show. “They’ve also supplied arms to the Taliban, and they’ve helped North Korea deliver missiles to Iran and Pakistan. And they’ve assisted Iran with their nuclear program.”

Among the other sins:

“China has widespread intellectual property theft of United States intellectual property. Don’t forget that,” she said. “They’ve also been engaged in industrial espionage against the West as well. And they actively have engaged in cyber attacks both on our military and on our commercial companies.”

“Just keep these things in mind when it comes to China, they are a very bad actor,” she added.

  1. I suppose it’s too much to expect a candidate for the White House to use proper grammar: China is an it, not a they; it requires a singular pronoun, not a plural, and the appropriate verb form.

No need to thank me, Rep. Bachmann. Just doing my best for America’s children.

  2. This is a more important post than it appears at first. Today, Americans spend 10% of the GDP on imports.

This means that more than 10% of our GDP is lost every year and it never circulates again in the GDP because it’s in other countries like China.

Americans must be made to realize that our love affair with cheap Chinese imports at WalMart will move our jobs and manufacturing to China. The average Chinese makes 1/8 what the average American does doing the exact same job. So if you buy Chinese, you lose your job security.

This article is one way to try to teach Americans what they are doing by losing 10% of our circulating money every year.

  3. I’m not sharing something I shouldn’t? China has blinded U.S. satellites with their lasers?

Hmmm. Sounds like more post cards from the Tilt-A-Whirl . . .
