Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren was supposed to hold an interview with Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain after last night’s debate at the Venetian in Las Vegas.

She got Wayne Newton with his arm wrapped around Michele Bachmann instead.

Newton, who fashions himself as “Mr. Las Vegas,” said he was in the room during the debate Tuesday night and came away impressed with the Minnesota Congresswoman’s performance.

“I am an entertainer but first of all, I’m an American and second of all, I’m a Nevadan, and third of all, I will support this beautiful lady as long as she wants to go,” Newton said during the interview, which ended in a playful kiss between the pair.

‘That’s pretty hot, that’s pretty good,” Van Susteren said.

Bachmann, for her part, wore a big smile during the interview and was pleased with the endorsement.

“This is a picture of America, right here, this is like John Wayne — Wayne Newton,” she said. “I’m just thrilled.”
