Bachmann way down in Quinnipiac University poll; Romney on top

The latest Quinnipiac University national poll on the Republican presidential race has Mitt Romney atop the leader board and Michele Bachmann seventh, with 3 percent.

The poll of Republicans and those leaning Republican, was finished on Monday night, and showed:

  • Romney 22%
  • Cain 17%
  • Perry 14%
  • Palin 9%
  • Gingrich 8%
  • Paul 6%
  • Bachmann 3%
  • Santorum 3%
  • Huntsman 1%

The poll also included New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in some questions, even though he emphasized again Monday that he won’t run. When Christie was included in this questioning, he was tied with Romney at 17%.
