Only 5 percent of likely Republican primary voters in South Carolina support Michele Bachmann, according to a new NBC/Marist poll released Wednesday. She’s tied with Ron Paul for fifth place in the state.

Among the 15 percent of voters who reported being undecided, only 5 percent said they are leaning toward Bachmann.

Herman Cain, at 30 percent, leads all Republicans in the state. Mitt Romney follows him at 26 percent.

The poll is particularly bad news for Bachmann, who has made a strong South Carolina showing part of her strategy for winning the Republican presidential nomination.
