Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann secured her first congressional endorsement Thursday.
Arizona Congressman Trent Franks will act as Bachmann’s Congressional Co-Chair, the campaign announced this morning. Franks said he endorsed Bachmann after watching her actions while in Congress.
“I know Michele is right on the issues that are important to conservatives across the country and I know she won’t back off,” Franks said in a statement. “I have seen her at work in Washington, standing firm on key issues like Obamacare, the debt ceiling and TARP.”
Bachmann also added the chairman of the Iowa Tea Party, Ryan Rhodes, to her Iowa team as her “Tea Party Outreach Director.” Rhodes received some notoriety this summer when he confronted President Obama when he visited Iowa in August.
